Ask the municipality which permit or certificate and supporting documents are required.
Have a qualified professional assess the site and prepare the required plans.
Obtain municipal authorization before construction or a major change.
Complete inspections, operation, pumping and maintenance required for the selected system.
Important requirementA compliant system is required for a new covered building, an added bedroom, a change of use or an increase in operating or occupancy capacity. Municipalities may regulate septic-tank pumping frequency and procedures.
